The short version
Coats has no accounts and no server of its own. The rooms you measure, the jobs you save and the quotes you export are written to your iPhone and stay there. There is nothing to sign up for, and there is no copy of your work anywhere else.
What Coats stores, and where
Your wall list, coats, surface and method settings, saved jobs, client names you type into a quote, and your unit preference are saved in Coats' own storage on the device. You can delete a saved job from the Saved Jobs list; deleting the app removes all of it.
What leaves the device
In this version, nothing. Coats ships with no advertising SDK and no tracking SDK, and it has no code of its own that sends your measurements, jobs or quotes anywhere.
Coats is built with TelemetryDeck, a privacy-first analytics service, but it is switched off in this release: no analytics identifier is configured, so the analytics code never starts and never opens a connection. If we ever turn it on, this page is updated first, and what it would send is a small set of coarse, anonymous product events — never your measurements, job names, client names, prices or any personal identifier.
Camera
On iPhone models with the LiDAR sensor, Coats can scan a room. The camera runs only while a scan is on screen, Apple's RoomPlan processes it on the device, and Coats keeps no photos, video or 3D model. The only thing that survives a scan is the list of wall dimensions it proposes — which lands in the editable wall list for you to correct before any quantity is worked out.
Purchases
Coats Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold and billed by Apple. Apple handles the payment and tells Coats one thing: whether this Apple Account is entitled to Pro. We never see your payment details, your Apple Account, your name or your email through a purchase.
What Coats never does
No ads. No selling or sharing your data. No tracking across apps or websites. No access to your contacts, photos, microphone or location — Coats never asks for those permissions.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top of the page changes with it, and any change that affects what leaves your device is published here before the release that makes it.
